Actor Kamal Haasan has postponed the audio launch event of his upcoming film, Thug Life, due to rising tensions between India and Pakistan. The actor shared that it is a time for quiet team spirit, not party.
Kamal Haasan postpones Thug Life event
On Friday, Kamal shared the news by a statement, which was titled “Art can wait. India comes first”. The event was scheduled for May 16. The actor shared that a new date will be introduced at a “more suitable time”. “In view of the trends at our state’s border and the country of heightened alert, we’ve determined to reschedule the audio release of Thug Life, at the beginning for the 16th of May,” Kamal.
He said, “As our soldiers stand company at the frontlines with unflinching braveness in defence of our motherland, I accept as much with it is a time for quiet harmony, not party. A new date will release later. At this time, our mind are with the courageous person of our militia who stand vigilant, protects our country. As citizens, it’s our duty to respond with restraint and harmony.
Increasing Tensions between countries
Tensions between India and Pakistan were high following the April 22 terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, which claimed lives of 26 human beings. The incident has sparked a diplomatic disaster. It were given escalated following Operation Sindoor.
On Wednesday, the Indian Armed Forces released Operation Sindoor, a centered strike to break terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan and (Pakistan-occupied-Kashmir) PoK in reaction to the Pahalgam terror attack. This is reason why Kamal Haasan give first priority to country and delays his audio launch event.
