Sunny Deol has responded to Pakistani artiste Fawad Khan’s comeback to the Hindi movie industry with Abir Gulaal in a communication with HT City. Sunny Deol stated he will not mind Pakistani actors getting work in India. Known for his cross-border patriotic movies like Border and Gadar, Sunny Deol was requested by HT City if he supports Fawad Khan’s return to Bollywood, which raised eyebrows all over again after the teaser of his movie Abir Gulaal released.

“See, I wouldn’t like to head directly to the political side because this is wherein things start getting messy. We are actors; we works for everyone all around the world. Even if any person is looking or not, we’re for anyone. So, aisi koi baat nahi hain (not anything like that). The more the way the industry has become, we have to live in world and permit there be more countries; it truly is the way it should be,” stated Sunny Deol.
Sunny Deol’s statement comes after Raj Thackeray-led Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) stated it’d oppose the release of Abir Gulaal offering Fawad Khan on April 2. Directed via Aarti S Bagdi (Chalti Rahe Zindagi), the movie is produced by Indian Stories, at the side of A Richer Lens and Aarjay Pictures. Fawad Khan has been paired contrary Vaani Kapoor in the film.
Pakistani Actors Banned in India
Sunny Deol Responds to Fawad Khan and make clear that he has no problem with Pakistani Actors. In 2016, an unofficial ban on Pakistani artistes in India, triggered by political disputes. In 2023, the Bombay High Court disregarded a petition to officially ban them. Fawad Khan made his Bollywood debut with Khoobsurat (2014) with Sonam Kapoor. He acted in a different role in Shakun Batra’s Kapoor & Sons (2016). He also made a cameo appearance in Karan Johar’s directorial Ae Dil Hai Mushkil the same year.
