YouTuber Gulzar Sheikh Arrested for Vandalizing Railway Tracks Inorder To Make His Youtube Videos

YouTuber Gulzar Sheikh arrested for placing various items like cycles, soaps, and stones on railway tracks to create videos. This arrest followed a complaint by the Legal Hindu Defence group informed BJP national spokesperson Shehzad Poonawalla on X (formerly Twitter).

Shehzad Poonawalla confirmed the news. He referred to Sheikh as a “Rail Jihadi.” He thanked Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath, the UP Police, and Railways Minister Ashwani Vaishnaw for their immediate action. “Rail Jihadi Gulzar arrested. रेल जिहादी गुलज़ार गिरफ़्तार,” Poonawalla posted.

Background of the Complaint

The Legal Hindu Defence which is a group launched by Poonawalla last month filed the complaint. They cited violations under the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita 2023. The complaint said that this could cause the derailment of the trains which could lead to a lot of loss and tragedies.. It mentioned several sections of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita, The Railway Property (Unlawful Possession) Act 1966, and the IT Act 2000. The actions of YouTuber Gulzar Sheikh arrested could lead to a major tragedy.

Initial Controversy

Earlier, X user “TrainWaleBhaiya” posted a video showing Sheikh’s dangerous activities. The video showed him placing random objects on railway tracks. The user requested Indian Railways and authorities to take action. “This is Mr. Gulzar Sheikh from Lalgopalganj, UP who puts random things in front of trains for YouTube money putting the lives of thousands of passengers in danger,” the user wrote.

The videos have caused a lot of controversy as people  are accusing Sheikh of performing dangerous stunts for views and money. Due to this reason he was arrested by Uttar Pradesh police.

Details of Sheikh’s Channel

A review of Sheikh’s YouTube channel, “Gulzar Indian Hacker,” reveals many such videos. He often places various objects on railway tracks despite occasional disclaimers and his content consistently features risky behavior. The channel has over 243 videos. One short video has amassed 99 million views. The channel has more than 235,000 subscribers and a total view count exceeding 137 million.

The Legal Hindu Defence pointed out the severe consequences of Sheikh’s actions. “The accused has knowledge that his actions can lead to derailment of a train, taking lives of many people,” the complaint read. It emphasized the violation of specific sections of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita, The Railway Property (Unlawful Possession) Act, and the IT Act. The group urged authorities to register the offences at once and file the FIR accordingly.
