Women Is The Sole Owner Of 'Streedhan' And Fathers Cannot Claim It After Marriage

Women is the sole owner of streedhan. Streedhan is the wealth or gifts a woman gets from her family and in-laws when she marries. These gifts are to make sure she has money and can be independent and they are important culturally and emotionally. Streedhan includes things like jewelry and cash and it is given so the woman has her own resources as this helps her support herself if needed. The idea of Streedhan is traditional and shows respect for the woman as Women is the sole owner of streedhan.

The Indian Supreme Court decided that husbands cannot control their wives’ Streedhan. Streedhan is the woman’s property alone and husbands have no ownership or rights over it therefore women is the sole owner of streedhan. If a husband uses it in tough times he must give it back to his wife. This decision makes sure women have full rights over their Streedhan as it supports their financial independence and security.

The Indian Supreme Court decided that a father cannot ask for his daughter’s Streedhan back after she gets married or even if she gets divorced. Streedhan is the woman’s property alone and neither her husband nor her father has any rights over it. This decision supports the women’s financial independence and keeps her assets safe.

In one case the court rejected a father’s attempt to get his daughter’s Streedhan from her ex-in-laws. The court noted that the father did not have his daughter’s permission to start the action. The ruling made it clear that Streedhan includes gifts and assets given to the woman when she got married and these stay her property. This decision shows the need to respect a woman’s rights over her Streedhan no matter her marital status whether she is still married or divorced.

Can Women Give Her Streedhan To Anyone She Wants?

Women have complete authority over her streedhan as women is the sole owner of streedhanand she can use it as she wants. If she has an intention to give it to his father and she really wants to give it to him then she is allowed to do so as she is taking the decision by herself and is not persuaded nor pressured to take that action. The same is the case with husbands. If a woman wants to give her Streedhan to her husband then she is allowed to do so as it is her property and she can distribute it as she wants but without any pressure.
