Love is in the office! This company is encouraging employees to go on dates

Whiteline Group is a Thai marketing agency which enters the recent limelight due to its strange workplace initiative. The company is now encouraging employees to go on dates during office hours. The company not only advocates for it but also funds the dates of its employees by providing paid dates. The shocking policy has surely challenged the conventional expectations of the workplace and encouraged a healthier balance between life and work. It is a research-based move, since happy-relationship people contribute effectively to businesses, productivity, and thereby, overall success.

For Whiteline Group, encouraging employees to go on dates is now a company policy. The company believes happy employees outside the office equate to commitment inside the office. Relationships have been linked to mental well-being and lowered stress with increased motivation possibly leading to greater workplace output. Supporting this initiative means the company points out the potential of personal happiness in improving professional performance. The question arises if it is for the company’s own benefit or for employees’ well-being.

You can even take few nights off as Thai agency is encouraging employees to go on dates

While most companies look down upon public displays of affection or relationships within the workplace, Whiteline Group is going all out to break these very stereotypes. Whiteline encourages bonding between people and dissipates corporate taboos associated with personal relationships at work. Additionally, the company also pays for Tinder Premium subscriptions for its employees, contributing toward the quest of finding compatible partners.

For instance, the Whiteline Group goes to the extent of granting employees “Tinder leave” until December when staff can take time off for express purposes of dating and building personal relationships. With close to 200 employees, it has also given the benefit of taking a few nights or days off to go on these dates. This starts off a new policy where encouraging employees to go on dates ushers in a point of change in how the work environment can continue to develop.
