Dhikala zone of Jim Corbett National Park is set to reopen for tourists from November 15. The opening of zone was not only welcome Indian tourists but it had big hopes for foreign tourists also as well. All night rest rooms of Dhikala were booked on the first day of booking.
Reopening Dhikala will definitely boost tourism activities in the region. Along with Corbett Park, tourism in Nainital district is also supposed to pick up. The tourists prefer visiting Dhikala because of its rich biodiversity and wild life.
Dhikala zone is closed every year from June 15 for tourist safety during monsoon period. The park reopens once again after the monsoon and this year it will be re-opening on November 15. Online booking was open for night stay at Dhikala from October 6 to 12. Dhikala rooms were fully booked within the first day of opening for night stay.
Dhikala Zone of Jim Corbett to Reopen: What are the Booking Days?
The booking procedure provided information and was furnished by park warden Amit Gwasakoti. Dhikala night stays opened booking 45 days in advance of its reopening. The first round of this round of night stay booking has been started from November 15 to 21. New bookings for the period November 21 to 27 will be available on October 13.
A tourist can stay for up to three nights in Dhikala or other zones of Corbett Park. Day visit and night safari bookings have also been made across all zones of Corbett Park. One can stay in Dhikala, Sarpduli, Gairal, Sultan, Bijrani, Jhirna, and other zones.
There has been an open rejoicing by all the related tourism businesses with the reopening of Dhikala zone. Dhikala zone offers 30 rooms and 12 dormitory facilities. Gairal zone features 6 rooms and 8-bed dormitory. Sultan zone has 2 rooms, and Malani offers 2 rooms. Bijrani zone, for its part, offers 7 rooms for the tourists.
Dhela has 2 rooms available for night stay. Jhirna zone has prepared 4 rooms for tourists. Pakharo zone and Sona river zone have arranged 2 rooms in each.
Jim Corbett National Park earned a substantial amount of income in the year 2023-24. Up to June 15, 2024, 4,36,600 tourists have visited Corbett Park for day safaris and night stay. This amount has yielded the Corbett Park administration Rs 26.29 crore in tourism.
Other than the day excursions, there will also be opportunities for tourists to spend overnight stays in other zones like Garjia, Sona River, Durga Devi, and Mundiya Water. Dhikala zone will be open for admitting more tourists in the upcoming season.
