Pair having sex caught on Swiss Air flight, video goes viral

Fighting fire with fire, a video of a pair having sex, filmed on board a Swiss Air flight from Bangkok to Zurich has unleashed a media storm, prompting the airline to commence an internal inquiry. The video obtained from cockpit-operated security cameras depicts the couple in a compromising situation inside the first-class cabin during the 12-hour flight in November.

The video was shot to cyberspace fame among the cockpit crew allegedly by posting it on group chat. Soon, screenshots of the footage began circulating online, leading to almost immediate public outrage and accusations about privacy breaches. One user on X shared a still from the footage, writing, “A couple joined the mile-high club on a Swiss Air flight while being secretly filmed by the pilots. Currently, the crew is under scrutiny for the distribution of the video.

Swiss Air has meanwhile expressed its negative reaction to the incident, including the unauthorized capturing and broadcasting of the image as well as a violation of company policy and data protection legislation.

Pair having sex on Swiss air flight, but who recorded them?

Filming people without their consent goes against our values and privacy standards, airline spokesperson Meike Fuhlrott commented. She also pointed out that, from a professional standpoint, the crew should have responded instead of filming the scene and stated, “Our staff are used to behaving professionally, and the action does not conform to our rules.

The airline has promised to identify and take action against the persons responsible for the event. Fuhlrott also expressed disappointment over the online commentary surrounding the video, calling it disrespectful to passengers.

Swiss Air clarified that the security cameras installed in aircraft are intended to monitor cockpit safety, not to spy on passengers. These measures were then introduced after the 9/11 attacks, to avoid hijacking acts, Fuhlrott defined.

The airline guaranteed the public that respecting the passengers and keeping the interactions polite are both top priorities. The inquiry is ongoing as Swiss Air tries to establish the leak of the footage.
