Mahindra launches much-awaited electric vehicles XEV 9e and BE 6e: Check out the features

Mahindra launched its much-awaited electric vehicles, the Mahindra XEV 9e and BE 6e, through its advanced XUV and BE sub-brands. The new models promise to rewrite the EV rulebook on style, technology, and price points. Coming as a direct rival to the Mercedes-Benz EQA and BMW iX1, the BE 6e sells at an introductory price of ₹18.90 lakh and the XEV 9e for ₹21.90 lakh, both ex-showroom.

Differences between XEV 9e and BE 6e

The Mahindra XEV 9e features an aggressive front profile, complete with an upright bonnet and the new illuminated Infinity logo. Connected LED DRLs, vertically stacked projector headlights, and a blanked-off grille only make it look bolder. The black bumper carries LED fog lamps and an air inlet. This side profile has a sloping roofline, flush door handles, and dual-tone aerodynamic alloys- each rich with black cladding on the wheel arches. At the rear, inverted U-shaped LED tail lights and a chrome-accented bumper round off its sophisticated design.

The Mahindra BE 6e on the other hand takes a more sporting route with its sharp, angular bonnet and illuminated BE logo. Horizontally stacked projector headlights flank distinctive C-shaped LED DRLs. The design seamlessly flows into a silver-accented skid plate and black bumper. Side elements include pronounced arches, integrated rear handles, and contrasting black accents on the ORVMs. At the rear, its tail lights mirror the C-shaped DRLs but lack a connecting bar, complementing the aggressive styling of the bumper.

Inside, both the XEV 9e and BE 6e boast an otherworldly cabin decked in opulent materials. The XEV 9e equips its occupants with three screens: driver display, central touchscreen, and passenger display. The BE 6e packages in dual screens instead. Their steering wheels shall bear illuminated logos- Infinity for XEV 9e and BE 6e respectively. A simple center console holds gear dials, dual cup holders, and wireless charging pads.

Although both vehicles share a forward-thinking design language, they have different tastes. The XEV 9e leans more toward SUV-coupe style, whereas the BE 6e aggressive lines bring a sportier vibe. Together, they signify Mahindra’s bold entry into the future of electric mobility.
