An Indian-origin project engineer, Balasubramanian Chithambaram, in Singapore, has won a grand prize of US $ 1 million or above ₹ 8 crore through the lucky draw of Mustafa Jewellery. The win occurred three months ago, and he spent his thoughtful money to bring home the gold chain for his wife, which now turns into the jackpot.
Gold Chain Turns Into Jackpot in Mustafa Jewellery’s Lucky Draw
The draw, arranged by Mustafa Jewellery during their annual event at the Civil Service Club @ Tessensohn, redeemed Chithambaram’s purchase of gold ornaments worth S$6,000. Shoppers spending over S$250 at the store were eligible. On Sunday, November 24, Chithambaram’s ticket emerged as the winner of the grand prize.
For Chithambaram, the win was emotionally charged. The day marked the fourth death anniversary of his father. It felt like a gift, he said tearfully. As a gesture of thankfulness, he plans to donate part of his winnings to Singapore’s residents, where he has lived and labored for 21 years.
Gold Turns Into Huge Amount; Draws Inspire Generosity
The lucky draw did not only bring Chithambaram good luck. Others won prizes worth USD 5,000 during the store’s monthly draws. His story joins the list of amazing lottery wins, among which is another one earlier this year in Malaysia. There, a man attributed winning big to a suggestion by his wife.
Chithambaram would like to share the good news with his mother and spend the money responsibly, being thankful and true to his community. His win is a testament that simple gestures, such as buying a gold chain, can become life-changing events.
