Two members of the notorious Bishnoi gang were arrested today in Jalandhar after a high-intensity chase and shootout. According to Punjab Police officials, during the pursuit, the criminals fired at officers, and as a response, officers fired at them too. The two criminals were eventually arrested, and from their possession, police recovered three pistols and a substantial quantity of ammunition.

Those arrested have long been involved in criminal activities like extortion, murder, violations under the Arms Act, and drug laws. The operation is being seen as a landmark breakthrough for the Jalandhar Police Commission in combating organized crime in the area.

The gang is led by Lawrence Bishnoi, who is currently in Sabarmati Jail, Gujarat. Despite being in jail, Bishnoi managed to direct crimes through his gang, making it the most major challenge for law agencies across the nation.

The Bishnoi gang has been charged with committing several high-profile killings, including that of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala. Their threats have also targeted Bollywood celebrities. Salman Khan was previously threatened, with bullets fired outside his residence and demands for an apology issued under the threat of violence. According to recent reports, even Shahrukh Khan may become a target, and this has raised security for famous personalities.

Currently, authorities are probing further to dig out more links and break down the operational setup of the gang. Arresting these two Bishnoi gang members is a big step to further weaken their hold. Punjab Police have asked people to stay vigilant and report suspicious activities while it continues efforts to neutralize the menace.
