Mayank Suhaag and Tanushree Singh will receive the two most prestigious awards, the Chancellor’s Medal and the Hewett Gold Medal, at KGMU 21st convocation ceremony on Saturday.
In total, 33 male and 48 female students will awarded for their excellent performance. Along with 81 medals and prizes, the university will award 2,441 degrees to students during the event.

“It’s my consistency and my family’s constant support that paved the way for my success,” said Dr. Mayank, who will receive the Chancellor’s Medal for achieving the highest overall marks in his MBBS exams.
Tanushree, the daughter of Dr. Sujata Deo, a senior faculty member at Queen Mary’s Hospital, KGMU, will receive the Hewett Gold Medal along with five other gold medals. “My parents are my inspiration for becoming a doctor,” she said.
More awardees on convocation
Tanya Sachan will receive the Platinum Jubilee Gold Medal; Dr. Shakeb Zaidi will receive the Professor Vinita Das Gold Medal; and Fagni Garg will receive the Late Dr. BN Dhawan Gold Medal. “A total of 2,441 degrees awarded to students from various programs, including UG, PG, Dental, Nursing, PhD, and Super Specialty courses.
81 students and 9 faculty members recognized for their outstanding academic and professional achievements,” said Dr. KK Singh, the spokesperson for KGMU.
The convocation will also host Union Minister of State Pankaj Chaudhary, Deputy CM Brajesh Pathak, and Minister Mayankeshwar Sharan Singh.
