The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) sent a notice to all principals and centre superintendents before the 2026 board exams, which start today. In a circular dated February 14, 2026, the Board confirmed that admit cards issued after finishing the List of Candidates (LOC). The Mathematics exam will be on February 17 and will take place across India and at centres abroad.
CBSE issues Advisory to distributes Mathematics Question Papers
CBSE has instructed examination centres to give each student only the question paper for the subject listed on their admit card. Any change of subject during the distribution of question papers strictly forbidden. For example, candidates who chose the Mathematics Standard must not receive the Mathematics Basic paper and vice versa.
The Board also emphasized that this rule applies to other subjects like English, Hindi, Sanskrit, and Urdu, which have separate subject codes for different syllabi.
Board warns students
“The Mathematics examination take place on 17.02.2026 across the country and abroad. During the examination, it ensured that students only receive the Question Papers for the subjects specified in their Admit Card.
This notice is in effect for the entire exam period to avoid issues during question paper distribution. CBSE also warned that if a student is found to taken an exam for a subject not listed on the admit card, that student marked “Absent” for the subject they assigned. Furthermore, any exam taken in violation of Board rules cancelled, and results prepared accordingly.
