The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) update the cut-off scores for NEET-PG 2025 on basis of guidance from the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. The NEET-PG results announced on August 19, 2025. In its letter dated January 9, 2026, the Ministry approved a reduction in the minimum qualifying percentiles for candidates taking part in the third round of counselling for the 2025-26 academic year.
NEET-PG 2025 cut off slashed to -40 marks
“NEET-PG ranks remain unchanged as published on August 19. Eligibility is provisional and checked through MBBS/FMGE aggregate marks, Face ID, or biometric verification during admission,” NBEMS stated.
NBEMS also explained that the aggregate marks from all MBBS Professional exams or FMGE listed in the NEET-PG application form confirmed against original documents at the time of admission. Scorecards will show these aggregate marks if they helped break ties in NEET-PG ranks.
Will the candidature cancelled?
“If the information provided in the application form is incorrect and was used to break a tie, the candidate’s NEET-PG 2025 candidature will be cancelled,” the board warned.
Candidates caught using unfair means at any point during the exam will face penalties from NBEMS, MCC, or the counseling authority. Any candidates found cheating will have their results or candidature revoked.
For questions, candidates should contact NBEMS at 011-45593000 or through their Communication Web Portal. Candidates should also regularly check the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) official website for updates on counselling.
