Parents of students admitted under the Right to Education (RTE) quota at Tree House High School submitted a memorandum on Friday to the district collector and district education officer. They seek immediate help to secure admissions in other schools after the private institution shut down in Jaipur due to financial problems.
They said that the children were admitted properly, but the closure disrupted their schooling. The school took 44 students each year under RTE.
Parents protests under RTE quote over Jaipur schools closure
With the state’s RTE admission process currently ongoing, the parents urged the district administration to find alternative schools for the affected students.
In the memorandum, parents demanded that, considering the future of the affected students, proper alternative admission arrangements made in other schools right away.
Now demand for admission in another school
“My daughter selected through the RTE admission process and studied here for the past four years. Now, suddenly, the school has shut down. Right now, a refund is not that important to me. Getting her admitted to another school under RTE is what matters. Thanks to RTE, I have been able to give her a good education until now,” said Nirma.
Parents mentioned that the unexpected closure of the school has disrupted the children’s education, leaving them confused about the situation. Sanyukt Abhibhavak Sangh, a group of concerned parents in the city, said that it is the education department’s duty to intervene quickly and protect the academic year of the students.
