The education landscape of Jharkhand is experiencing a fast digital change. A total of 33,718 schools across the state now have Information and Communication Technology (ICT) labs. This allows thousands of students to learn through smart classrooms, digital tools, and computer-based education.
Sharing this achievement on X, the Jharkhand Education Project Council (JEPC) wrote that Jharkhand has made notable progress in digital education. With 33,718 schools now equipped with computers, this reflects the state’s strong commitment to technology-driven learning.
Digital transformation in Jharkhand classrooms
The initiative has turned traditional classrooms into interactive digital learning spaces. Students are being trained in computer use, coding basics, digital literacy, and how to use online learning platforms.
Teachers have also received training to incorporate multimedia resources, smart boards, and virtual simulations into their lessons. This makes subjects like science, mathematics, and geography more engaging and focused on results.
Student progress and future expansion
So far, 6,892 students have passed the ICT examination, which tests digital skills and practical computer knowledge.
The education department now plans to expand the program to 1,274 elementary schools and 43 secondary schools in the next academic phase. This will extend access to digital education for an even larger group of students.
Officials believe that ICT-based education not only builds digital skills but also helps identify areas where students face challenges. This enables teachers to adjust their methods accordingly.
