A controversy erupts in the PES University in Bengaluru after professor allegedly made offensive remarks about Muslim student and calls him terrorist. The incident occurs when the student, Affan request permission to leave class briefly. As per video from classroom, professor reacted harshly and calls him “terrorist” in front of the class.
Bengaluru college professor call Muslim Student “ terrorist”
“Sharm nahi aati, tumko,” the professor, dressed in a half-sleeved checkered shirt, is heard shouting in the video. “Do you feel no shame?” He added, “I thought I would be very calm today.” The video captures him saying “terrorist” amid a lot of background noise.
The professor is accused of making several abusive remarks, including blaming “people like him” for the Iran war, claiming Donald Trump would “come and take him away,” and telling the student he would “go to hell.” Another student filmed the entire incident.
University Suspend professor
Following the backlash, the university suspended the professor while it investigates. This suspension came three days after the alleged comments. A letter from the Vice Chancellor of PES University Bengaluru said, “A case of student complaint has been received. Pending a detailed inquiry into the matter, you are kept under suspension with immediate effect,” though it did not specify the offense.
A student who spoke anonymously mentioned that three students who supported Affan were also suspended for other reasons. The Vice Chancellor emphasized that the university trains all faculty on how to handle classroom situations.
