The Ranveer Singh’s film Dhurandhar 2 success has led the new discussions about the franchise’s future. It surprise the fans that makers plan to extend cut, merge Dhurandhar and its sequel in large cinematic experience.
Dhurandhar planning for extended cut
According to the rumours, this special version of Dhurandhar could run for an astonishing 7 hours and 30 minutes. The extended cut is said to be an uncensored director’s version, providing audiences with a richer and more immersive story. If this plan goes ahead, the film may not get a regular theatrical release. Instead, it could be shown on premium screens like IMAX, Dolby Cinema, HDR, and EPIQ.
Sitting through a 7.5-hour film may not be doable for many viewers, presenting a challenge for commercial success.
Will makers follow Baahubali footsteps?
Because of this, there is speculation that the Dhurandhar makers might consider a shorter version. A runtime of about 4 to 5 hours seems more realistic, much like how Baahubali: The Epic was released as a combined version of both parts with a tighter duration.
Despite all the excitement, it’s important to remember that there has been no official word from director Aditya Dhar or the production team. Merging two large films into a single narrative is a complex task, especially with intricate storytelling and multiple character arcs in both parts. For now, the extended cut remains a topic of speculation.
