Actor Pranav Mohanlal, son of Malayalam superstar Mohanlal and producer Suchitra, is currently embracing a slower pace of life. According to his mother, the actor is working as a farmer in Spain, exchanging his labour for food and lodging.
In a recent interview with FTQ with Rekha Menon, Suchitra shared insights into her son’s unconventional lifestyle. “Appu, as I call him, is in Spain now, working on a farm. There’s no salary involved—just food and a place to stay,” she revealed. His tasks range from caring for horses to tending lambs. “It’s an experience, and he always has stories to tell when he returns from his travels,” she added.
Actor Pranav Mohanlal wants a balance between cinema and personal life
Pranav, known for his love of adventure, frequently shares glimpses of his journeys on Instagram. While he still acts, his approach to the film industry is selective. Suchitra admitted she wishes he would take on more projects. “He does one film every two years. I encourage him to do at least two, but he’s trying to strike a balance,” she said.
She also mentioned she has no desire for him to star in films alongside his father. “People will compare them, and I don’t want that judgment,” she noted.
Pranav’s acting journey
Pranav began as a child artist in his father’s 2002 film Onnaman and earned the Kerala State Film Award for Best Child Artist for Punarjani in 2003. He later worked as an assistant director for Papanasam and Life of Josutty.
In 2018, he made his debut as a lead actor in Aadhi, which received critical and commercial success. His performance in Hridayam (2022) won praise across India. Most recently, he appeared in Varshangalkku Shesham alongside Dhyan Sreenivasan.
Despite his growing filmography, Pranav’s heart seems equally invested in exploring the world and gathering life experiences beyond the screen.
