Ajay Devgn upcoming action film, Son Of Sardaar 2 hit theatres on 25 July

Actor Ajay Devgn on Thursday shared the first poster of his upcoming film ‘Son of Sardaar 2’. The actor shared a colourful poster offering himself wearing a turban. He also announced release date of the movie. “The Return of the Sardaar. #SOS2 in cinemas near you on 25th July. #SardaarIsBack #SonOfSardaar2 (sic),” Devgn shared on Instagram, tagging Mrunal Thakur, who featured in the film.

‘Son of Sardaar 2’ is the sequel to his 2012 hit action comedy, which also featured Sonakshi Sinha. With the film, the 56-year-old is also venturing back into the sector of comedy after a long term.

Ajay Devgn comeback in Son Of Sardaar 2 film

Devgn has been providing numerous high action dramas for a while now. His previous few films – ‘Singham Again,’ ‘Shaitaan,’ ‘Bholaa,’ and ‘Maidaan,’ among others – had been all serious action dramas. With ‘Son of Sardaar 2’, the actor yet again explores a genre that he frequently aces. While the movie isn’t from the league of ‘Golmaal’ or ‘Bol Bachchan,’ it has the ability to tickle the target market’s funny bones and provide entertainment in theatres.

Director Replace Vijay Raaz

Earlier, actor Vijay Raaz performed a vital role in the movie. However, he was replaced after an argument with the director. Later, actor Sanjay Mishra was made to return on board. In an interview with Hindustan Times, he spoke about agreeing to be part of the movie at the last minute.

Mishra shared, “I am completed filming for ‘Son of Sardaar 2’. All of that is a part of the industry, to be very sincere. I did the film the fact I got a call from Ajay Devgn. One call from him and that is all it takes for me to mention sure to him. He’s a close friend and has been there for me in tough times. Not only that, replacing Vijay wasn’t easy.”
