AR Rahman uses hashtag #Arrsairaabreakup in social media divorce post, fans react

Renowned composer AR Rahman and his wife, Saira Banu, have confirmed their split after 29 years of togetherness. A ray of confirmed actual news that came on Tuesday left followers borderless as this couple has on several occasions been viewed as an image of complicity and love. However, the hashtag #Arrsairaabreakup the Indian musical composer AR Rahman used in his social media divorce post despite asking for privacy, has fumed the fans.

A statement from Saira Banu’s counsel reflected the same mutual desire of the two to go on separate ways. A statement with a judiciousness of how the two feel towards each other also explained growing conflicts and insecurities that transcended what can be repaired. Both Rahman and Banu have asked for their privacy to be respected as they grapple with this personal situation

Rahman further mentioned the separation in a touching message made on Instagram (previously Twitter). However, all people did not agree when Rahman uploaded a picture of himself with the hashtag #arrsairaabreakup. Most people on the internet thought it was very distasteful and untimely. One questioned the need to make every private matter public by tweeting, “So much so for subtlety. Thank you for the hashtag. This will ensure full privacy!” Another one sharply remarked, “You do not need a hashtag to ask for non-interference.”

Rahman and Banu who got married to each other on the 12th of March 1995 are parents to three children, namely; Khatija, Raheema, and Ameen. Their movie kind of marriage was between Rahman’s mother and Saira at a particular Sufi shrine in Chennai, and then the rest of history accounted for all that. “It all happened very naturally”, Rahman once shared in an interview, how easy it had been for them to unite.

The decision of the two to go their separate ways has been met with approval and rejection from fans, sad feelings brought in by the decision, and moreover the controversy on such personal issues.
