A file has complaint against the Indian rapper Badshah over vulgar lyrics and visuals in his recent Haryanvi song, Tateeree. Panchkula police have opened the case and initiate investigation.
It also starts controversy on social media. Critics argue that the song sends a negative message to society by promotes inappropriate content.
FIR Registered Against Badshah in Panchkula
According to police officials, an FIR has been filed against Badshah at the Cyber Crime Police Station in Sector 20, Panchkula. Social activist Abhay Chaudhary, a resident of Chandimandir, made the complaint. Panchkula’s Deputy Commissioner of Police, Srishti Gupta, confirmed that the rapper is charged under Section 296 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita for obscene acts and songs. He also faces charges under Sections 3 and 4 of the Indecent Representation of Women (Prohibition) Act.
Haryana Women’s Commission Takes Notice Against Singer
The controversy has also caught the attention of the Haryana State Women’s Commission. The commission has acknowledged the complaints and issued a notice regarding the issue.
Some complainants have taken issue with the line “Aaya Badshah doli chadhaane, in sabki ghodi banaane,” claiming it objectifies women and minors. Officials announced that the music video and its content will be closely examined as part of the investigation.
