2 out of 5 stars given to Rajinikanth’s movie

India Today reviewer Janani K rated the movie 2 out of 5 stars and wrote, “Rajinikanth’s air of mystery, wit, and show presence continue to be strong at 74. A single close-up of his eye is enough to energize audiences, and ‘Coolie’ leans closely on such moments. While these illicit applause, they assessment with Lokesh Kanagaraj’s regular unique visual style. The film includes his brands – old songs, track-filled combat sequences and non-linear storytelling – but this time, these factors do not resonate as supposed.”

Kannada celeb Upendra, Bollywood celebrity Aamir Khan and actor Pooja Hegde appeared in cameos in the film. Composer Anirudh Ravichander, cinematographer Girish Gangadharan and editor Philomin Raj are part of the technical team.
