Fans are still not over AP Dhillon concert, but there was an issue...

The much-awaited AP Dhillon concert lit up the rally ground in Chandigarh’s Sector 25 on Saturday evening, pulling in fans from all around the region. Winter chills and logistical challenges notwithstanding, the crowd grooved to chart-toppers like Summer High and Excuses, with Punjabi music taking center stage.

Fans Travel Far and Wide

Most attendees hailed from the Tricity region, but dedicated fans had come in from Delhi, Gurgaon, Patiala, Ambala, and beyond. For Twinkle Rajpal of Delhi, who made a journey to the concert with her husband as she missed tickets to see Dhillon in his hometown, “My husband played Excuses at my vidaai to keep me upbeat. I could not miss this.”

Others, such as Omika Sachdeva, made bookings weeks in advance; she was not going to miss it this time.

Venue Issues and Mixed Bag of Reviews

Though memorable, the concert had criticisms regarding its venue and handling. Rishi Sharma, who traveled from Una, Himachal Pradesh, commented about the unpleasant smell from the dumping ground of Dadumajra. “The venue could have been better,” he said. “The box office was on a muddy route, which was an added inconvenience.”

Parking too was an issue. According to Harpreet Kaur, who visited with her cousin, “Parking was a long way from the venue. Therefore, for fans, it was very inconvenient.”

The program also had the likes of popular singer Jazzy B, Josh Brar, and Anuv Jain alongside AP Dhillon on stage. But at one point or another, like at some other places, some felt that there were no surprise performances like others.

Tight Security Measures

Over 2,000 security personnel, including senior officers, managed the event. Police maintained order both inside and outside the venue, ensuring fan safety amidst the bustling crowd.

Despite the challenges, the AP Dhillon concert left fans with unforgettable memories, reaffirming his status as a Punjabi music icon.
