Hrithik Roshan Praises Dhurandhar's Storytelling While Questioning Its Politics

Actor Hrithik Roshan praised the film Dhurandhar but shared his concerns about its political themes. Released in theaters on December 5, the Aditya Dhar film is set in the late 2000s and draws inspiration from real events to present a fictional account of India’s fight against terror operations in Pakistan.

Hrithik Roshan praise Ranveer’s Dhurandhar film

Ranveer Singh stars as Hamza, an Indian spy who tries to infiltrate Rehman Dakait’s gang. The plot involves espionage, crime, and intelligence operations.

On his Instagram story, Hrithik wrote, “I love cinema. I love people who climb into a vortex and let the story take control, spin them, and shake them until what they want is released onto the screen. Dhurandhar is an example of that. I loved the storytelling. It’s cinema.”

“I may disagree with the politics of it and discuss the responsibilities we filmmakers should have as citizens of the world. Still, I can’t ignore how much I loved and learned from this one as a student of cinema. Amazing,” the actor added.

More actors and politicians praised the movie

Along with Hrithik Roshan, Akshay Kumar also praised Dhurandhar on social media. He wrote, “I watched Dhurandhar and I’m blown away. What a gripping story, and you’ve nailed it @AdityaDharFilms. We need our stories to be told in a hard-hitting way, and I’m glad the audiences are showing the film all the love it deserves.”

Actor and politician Smriti Irani also commented on the film’s connection to real-life experiences. She wrote, “If you have looked into the eyes of the wife of a fallen soldier and walked her to the cremation ground, if you have visited the Jagti camp in Jammu, if you have seen the empty temple grounds of Sharika Devi in Srinagar, if you have met those who were on duty during the Parliament attack or have family who survived the 26/11 Mumbai attack, then nothing in Dhurandhar should lead you to outrage. After all, it’s just a film.”
