They made the announcement on social media with a sweetly worded message that said: “Our beautiful blessing is coming soon. 2025.” The cricket fraternity would welcome this news with wide-open arms and wishes from all fans.
KL Rahul and Athiya Shetty receive warm welcome for their first pregnancy
Rahul and Athiya tied the knot in a private ceremony held in January 2023 with family and close friends attending. According to reports, the two started dating each other in 2019 after meeting through a common friend. Their relationship, which combines Bollywood and cricket flavors, has been under focus from then till now.
Rahul currently plays for India A in a four-match series against Australia. These matches could be seen as a sort of warm-up to the much-awaited Border-Gavaskar Trophy. He is part of the senior group for the five-Test series against Australia, but he hasn’t been doing too well in the last couple of games. He was actually dropped from the playing XI during the New Zealand Test series last month.
While Rahul is fine-tuning himself in case he gets a call-up to the seniors, Indian cricket families are making more noise. Rumor mills are rife that the expected addition to the Rohit Sharma family will arrive some time either.
Sharma and his wife will Ritika Sajdeh will welcome their second baby, meaning that the first Border-Gavaskar Test in Perth might be a no-go for Rohit. Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma have also recently welcomed their second child-son baby Akaay.
A series of four T20Is for Team India commences tonight as they face South Africa. Rahul is going to play on the date between India and Australia following India A stint.
Meanwhile, the world of cricket was abuzz with heroism on field and personal milestones off it as players celebrated joyous moments away from the game.
