The much awaited Punjabi film Nikka Zaildar 4 postponed to October 2 due to Punjab floods. The film is directed by Simerjit Singh and set to released on September 12. The team decided to delay it out of respect for the flood-affected communities.
Punjab is facing challenges from floods caused by swollen rivers like Sutlej, Beas, and Ravi. Heavy rainfall in Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir has led to overflowing smaller streams. Many towns and villages are submerged, and residents struggle to rebuild their lives. In light of this humanitarian crisis, the film’s cast and crew agreed that it would be right to delay release.
Nikka Zaildar 4 New Release Date is 2 October
Sonam Bajwa announced the new release date on her Instagram account on Sunday. The makers stressed that this delay is more than a scheduling change; it shows their responsibility toward the people of Punjab.
“The entire team of Nikka Zaildar 4 has decided to postpone the release date of the film to October 2, due to a severe flood situation in several areas of Punjab. We feel it’s our responsibility to support the people of Punjab during these tough times,” the statement read.
Film Cast show sympathy and support towards flood affected areas
The team of Nikka Zaildar 4 also plans to visit flood-affected areas with trucks full of food and other essential items. “We stand with Punjab,” the note read. Bajwa expressed compassion for the flood victims and reassured fans that the delay was a small sacrifice compared to the urgent needs of affected families. Her co-star Ammy Virk is also actively raising awareness about relief efforts.
Alongside Virk and Bajwa, veteran actress Nirmal Rishi and Parminder Gill play important roles in the film. Directed by Simerjit Singh, the fourth installment of the Nikka Zaildar series promises to continue its popular mix of comedy, drama, and romance.
Meanwhile, Sonam Bajwa will also appear in Baaghi 4 with Tiger Shroff, set for release on September 5. The film also features Miss Universe 2021 Harnaaz Kaur Sandhu in a significant role.
