There was a time when Shah Rukh Khan lacked ₹6 lakh to buy his famous mansion, Mannat, in Mumbai. He mentioned this amount to adman Prahlad Kakkar. However, Kakkar chose Aamir Khan’s more expensive offer of ₹17 lakh instead of Shah Rukh’s lower one.
Aamir get ad project over Shah Rukh Khan
In an interview with Vickey Lalwani, filmmaker Prahlad Kakar reflected on his career and recalled a moment when he had to decide between Aamir and Shah Rukh. Prahlad said, “Aamir was charging about ₹17 lakh, and Shah Rukh was asking for only ₹6 lakh at that time.
Shah Rukh was charging that amount because he needed ₹6 lakh to buy his house (Mannat). He said, ‘I am short of ₹6 lakh, you give me that, and I will do the ad.’ I felt he wasn’t right for the film. I wanted someone with the image of an actor. Money was not my concern.”
