Popular Bengali actor Rahul Arunoday Banerjee died in Odisha after drowning at Talsari beach. Banerjee was 43 years old at the time of the incident. He is survived by his wife, actor Priyanka Sarkar, and their 13-year-old son.

According to DigantaBagchi, Banerjee’s co-actor in the Bengali soap ‘Bhole Baba Par Karega’, the actor went to the beach for a shoot. “After today’s shoot, he went alone into the water but somehow caught in something below the surface. The exact circumstances are unclear.
Suddenly, people, including crew members, were shouting that Rahul was drowning. We pulled him out of the water and rushed him to Digha hospital, where doctors declared him dead on arrival,” Bagchi said.
CM extends condolences
CM Mamata Banerjee offered her condolences on Sunday after the actor’s untimely death. “I am shocked and deeply saddened to hear that the distinguished young and popular actor Rahul Arunoday Banerjee is no more,” she wrote on X. “I cannot understand what exactly happened. He was one of my favorite actors and someone I truly admired.
I send my heartfelt condolences to his grieving family, loved ones, and countless fans,” she added, noting that the actor’s passing is an “irreparable loss to the Bengali entertainment industry, Tollywood, and television.”
