Rajinikanth appears to have traded movie sets for the peaceful ghats of Rishikesh. The superstar, famous for his strong on-screen presence and down-to-earth nature off-screen, is currently enjoying a spiritual break in the Himalayas.
Photos of Thalaiva meditating by the Ganga, interacting with locals, and having a simple meal on leaf plates have gone viral, showing that even away from the camera, Rajinikanth can easily make headlines.
Rajinikanth visit Swami Dayananda Ashram
The Coolie actor visited the Swami Dayananda Ashram in Rishikesh, where he paid his respects to Swami Dayananda. He was also seen taking part in the sacred Ganga Aarti and making time for meditation by the riverside—a scene that many fans found inspiring. After his stay in Rishikesh, the superstar reportedly went to Dwarahat for the next part of his spiritual retreat.
Photos from his calm getaway have been circulating on social media. In one, Rajinikanth is sitting on a roadside stone, dressed in white, enjoying a simple meal served on traditional pattal plates. Another picture shows him talking with a group of men at the ashram, while another captures him standing next to a priest, offering prayers.
Internet respond on his Spiritual Retreat
The internet has reacted. One user called Rajinikanth a “leader” and shared his photo. Another person remarked that his simplicity truly defines him. One person noted that Rajinikanth had a spiritual awakening after years of living on the edge, and he often talks about his deep faith in God. They mentioned that he gifts Autobiography of a Yogi to people he meets, and recently gave a copy to World Chess Champion Gukesh.
Another individual added that humility and empathy are rare but powerful traits. Once they become part of who you are, they bring lasting inner peace.
On the work front, Rajinikanth was last seen in Lokesh Kanagaraj’s Coolie, which was released in theaters on August 14. The film also features Nagarjuna and Shruti Haasan in key roles—but for now, Thalaiva seems to have swapped the spotlight for some soul-searching by the Ganga.
