Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt added his star power to BJP MLA Rajeshwar Singh’s environmental campaign “Net Zero Sarojininagar” on Sunday. He joined a roadshow through Bangla Bazaar before launching the initiative. Dutt, who came at Singh’s invitation, walked nearly a kilometre with a large crowd that included youth, students, social organisations, and representatives from different sectors.

Speaking to the crowd in his usual style, Dutt said, “Hey, Uncle, listen. There are many uncles standing here, right? Listen to everything. Do three things in life. One: plant a tree. Two: save water, because water is gold. Three: become a voter, cast your vote. And one more thing: don’t use drugs.”
Dutt called himself a screen star and referred to Singh as a real-life superstar and said that public representatives who promote positive change are the true heroes.

Singh explained that the campaign focuses on two issues he deeply cares about: protecting the environment and empowering youth. “Sarojininagar is my family, and I want to make it a model constituency,” he said. He added that public support would help turn the campaign into a mass movement.
The initiative aims to promote environmental action across six areas: net zero schools and colleges, societies and RWAs, townships, industry, villages and lakes, and new policy suggestions and implementation.
