Waltzing With Brando will star Billy Zane as Marlon Brando in this biopic scheduled to open the Torino Film Festival. According to a report, in this biopic directed by Bill Fishman, Zane, an Oscar winner during his formative years of career and some of his most famous roles like Titanic and Tombstone, will play Brando.
This much-awaited film will be released at the festival at Torino scheduled from November 22 to 30. It will pay tribute to Brando’s centennial by screening a retrospective of his best works. Notably, Brando was regarded as the greatest cinema actor of the 20th century. He is well-known for his premiers like Last Tango in Paris and The Godfather.
What is the storyline of Waltzing With Brando?
Based on the memoir by architect Bernard Judge, Waltzing With Brando is the story of Judge joining forces with Brando in building an eco-friendly retreat on the remote Tahitian island of Tetiaroa during the 1970s.
Brando was renowned for his talent in breaking creative and environmental barriers. He visualized this project as an ecologically sound refuge. Billy Zane as Marlon Brando is said to deliver a “spiritually resonant” performance, breathing life into Brando’s idealism.
The young artist director, Giulio Base, who reboots Torino’s alternative movie scene, looks for a specific occasion to come with Waltzing With Brando. That’s an ambitious feature mixing ecology with the legacy of one of the cinema’s greatest figures.
The event will begin with the survival thriller Eden by Ron Howard, a very energetic kick at the lineup regarding international and future cinema films. Concerning Zane, that was also one of the performances by which he may feel himself getting more changes that had to be made through his entire stay period.
The lineup details for the Torino Film Festival are expected to be announced on November 7, promising an exciting program that reflects both classic influences and innovative narratives shaping contemporary cinema.
