Bloomberg Billionaires Index tracks the wealth of the 500 richest people in the world.

Here are the list of top five obscurer billionaires 2023 people who saw the biggest percentage growth in their fortunes this year, including two relatively unknowns.

Prajogo Pangestu – Top obscurer billionaire 2023

Prajogo Pangestu is a 79-year-old Indonesian business mogul, grew his fortune sevenfold this year, from less than $5 billion in early 2023 to $31.9 billion as of December 29, according to Bloomberg. In addition to founding and chairing PT Barito Pacific, Pangestu is a leading figure in the Indonesian petrochemical industry.

Prajogo Pangestu is coming in the list of Top obscurer billionaires 2023.This year, he listed Barito Renewables Energy and is the biggest shareholder of PT Petrindo Jaya Kreasi, which went public in March.

Brian Armstrong

Armstrong’s wealth grew by over 400% in 2023, according to Bloomberg’s data. He’s now worth $7.7 billion.

While Armstrong is well known in Silicon Valley and crypto circles, his net worth still lags behind that of Mark Zuckerberg and Elon Musk.

According to Coinbase, it holds $114 billion in assets that are safeguarded.

Judy Love

According to Bloomberg, Judy Love, the 86-year-old cofounder of Oklahoma-based Love’s Travel Stops & Country Stores, was worth just under $4 billion at the start of the year.

The company has nearly 650 locations, including truck service centers, restaurants, and gas stations.

Jensen Huang

Nvidia’s Jensen Huang had his net worth rise by more than $30 billion – or 219% – this year, bringing his estimated wealth to $44 billion. The company, which manufactures computer chips, has seen its stock soar amid the rise of artificial intelligence.

Despite being born in Taiwan, Huang moved with relatives to Washington State when he was 10. He founded Nvidia at 29 and is currently ranked 28 on Bloomberg’s rich list.

Changpeng Zhao

This year, Binance founder Changpeng Zhao’s wealth almost tripled to $37.4 billion. However, his fortune is well below its peak – in early 2022, for instance, he was worth about $100 billion.

Zhao, also known as CZ, stepped down as CEO of Binance after pleading guilty to a DOJ anti-money laundering probe that accused Binance and Zhao of failing to stop illegal trading on the exchange. Zhao will remain Binance’s majority owner.
