Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan have featured at the top of India’s highest tax-paying celebrities in 2024. Emerging as the winner, Shah Rukh Khan left several big star names behind with a whopping Rs 92-crore markdown in tax dealings. Salman Khan came in second with Rs 75 crore as tax payable despite no major releases this year. These accolades are supported by income from various portals like movies, brand endorsements, and businesses.
The numbers that Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan have shown in their tax payments over the years only go to show what hold they have had for so many decades. After starring in three blockbuster hits throughout the year, it was Shah Rukh’s star film ‘King’, which helped him shell out a whopping amount of Rs 92 crore as tax. On the other hand, Salman Khan might not have made any big screen appearances this year but he remains one of the biggest taxpayers, showing that his income is more than just films. The tax paid by the two stars shows how big their stature is in Indian entertainment.
Though Shah Rukh Khan and Salman feature in the list, other stars are enlisted as well. Thalapathy Vijay is the second on the list who shelled out 80 crores as tax amount. It marks the top payments from the South Indian film industry. Amitabh Bachchan stood on the fourth floor with 71 crores. Surprisingly, this Is Akshay Kumar’s first year out of the top 10 taxpayers since 2014.

Ajay Devgn and Ranbir Kapoor were also top contributors at Rs 42 crore & Rs 36 cr respectively.
The two, who have paid 165 crore in taxes in total, have worked together on some great films over the years. Their first mutual screen appearance was in 1995’s Karan Arjun. Their work in films such as Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Hum Tumhare Hain Sanam, Tubelight, Zero and also the forthcoming Tiger 3 are enough to excite fandoms worldwide with the unique legacy they build together within Bollywood.
