Xiaomi 17 Pro Max has officially revealed by the brand in China this week. The new Xiaomi series includes the 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max variants, inspired by Apple’s naming scheme. The similarities go beyond just the names, as the camera layout on the back of the 17 Pro Max resembles Apple’s design.
This is the first device to come with the latest Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset and the new HyperOS 3 version that based on Android 16. Like other models in the series, Xiaomi includes a Leica-tuned camera system along with other high-end features.
Is Xiaomi 17 Pro Max more cheaper than iPhone 17 Pro
The price of this phone starts at CNY 5,999 (approximately Rs 74,700) for the base model with 12GB RAM and 512GB storage. It goes up to CNY 6,299 (approximately Rs 78,400) for the 16GB RAM and 512GB storage version. Price is CNY 6,999 (approximately Rs 87,100) for the 16GB RAM and 1TB storage version. So, this phone is indeed about half the price of the iPhone 17 Pro Max.
Dual screen, leica cameras and more
The Xiaomi 17 Pro Max features a large 6.9-inch 2K AMOLED display and a smaller screen behind camera area. This smaller screen can be used for alarms, AI pets, and AI portraits. Xiaomi also claims that with a special case, you can turn the back screen into a handheld gaming console.
It is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, which was announced earlier this week. The device also comes with HyperOS 3, based on Android 16, right out of the box.
