A 42-year-old businessman was killed in a tragic hit-and-run incident in Ring Road. A speeding car, allegedly driven by a minor, crashed into his bicycle in Maharashtra’s Thane district, police reported on Thursday. The accused, a 17-year-old boy, fled the scene after the accident but was later found and detained by authorities.
Hit and run Accident on Kalyan Ring Road
The incident happened around 8 pm on Tuesday on an unfinished section of the Kalyan Ring Road. Locals say this area has become prone to reckless driving due to a lack of regulation. The victim, Srinivas Tandle, who owned several garment stores, had started cycling for fitness that same day.
According to police, while he was riding along the stretch, a car approached at high speed, swerved suddenly, and struck him, throwing him into the air.
Victim Declared Dead at Hospital
After the accident at Ring Road, the driver fled, leaving the victim seriously injured. Bystanders rushed Tandle to a nearby hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead on arrival. Police described the impact as severe, noting that the vehicle was being driven too fast at the time of the crash.
