'I pray to goddess Lakshmi that...' - PM Modi worried about middle class ahead of Budget 2025 announcement

As the Budget Session 2025 begins, PM Narendra Modi is worried about India’s middle class praying to goddess Maha Lakshmi to bring prosperity to the country. He sets an ambitious goal for India by declaring that it is moving straight on to being a developed country by 2047. At a media event before the session, he told the press with confidence that this budget would spark growth, rejuvenate, and give new hopes to the country.

“This is the first full budget of my third term, and I can assure you that it will reflect our commitment to Viksit Bharat. By 2047 when India completes 100 years of independence, our nation will have fully realized this dream,” PM Modi stated.

In his speech, Prime Minister invoked the goddess of prosperity, Maa Lakshmi, drawing inspiration from Hindu mythology, and prayed for her blessings upon India’s poor and middle class. He said that his government still focuses on inclusive growth and economic expansion.

The PM pointed out that it focuses on three major pillars-the innovative, inclusive, and investor-friendly administration. He assured that the implemented reforms would not only strengthen the economy but also provide avenues to realize the potential of India’s youth force.

“In the next few decades, when the current 25-year-olds reach their 40s, they will experience the full force of Viksit Bharat. That is a tremendous opportunity for young MPs to become a part of building India’s future,” he said.

He also hinted at historic bills that are going to be discussed in the session and reiterated his government’s commitment towards governance that is both transformative as well as performance-driven.
