Malaika Arora’s father Anil Arora was found dead outside the terrace of his residence in Mumbai. Seeing him in such a state left everyone suspicious falling on him for committing suicide. The police have also classified this as a case of suicide, although the cause is still under investigation. However, no suicide note was recovered at the scene, which again raises suspicions concerning the circumstances of the suspected suicide.
Anil Arora, who was an officer in the Indian Merchant Navy, separated from Malaika’s mother Joyce Polycarp when he was 11 years old. After the separation, Malaika along with her sister Amrita Arora shifted to Chembur along with their mother. Malaika Arora’s father Anil Arora’s death came as a big shock for the family as he was never found suffering from any ailments. A source also claimed that the death could be due to an accident and not suicide.
The Anarkali dancer was in Pune when her father died. She immediately came back to Mumbai as soon as she got the tragic news. Her sister Amrita with her husband Shakeel Ladak and Malaika’s son Arhaan Khan too reached the residence. The police did a ‘panchnama’ at the spot by collecting evidence. The reports are expected to clear the air about whether it was an accident or suicide.
Bollywood celebrities mourn Malaika Arora’s father Anil Arora’s death
Several celebrities trooped in to pay obeisance. These included members of the Khan family: Arbaaz Khan, ex-husband of Malaika; Salim Khan; Alvira Agnihotri; Sohail Khan; and Nirvaan Khan. Arjun Kapoor, ex-boyfriend of Malaika, was also spotted at the residence to offer condolences.
The police then took Malaika Arora’s father Anil Arora to the hospital, where he was declared dead on admission. As investigations into this incident are still ongoing, this unwanted and incomprehensible tragedy has torn the family apart. The police investigating the case say more inquiry is needed as the cause of suicide is not clear.
