The Muslim marriage registration bill 2024 was introduced which included compulsory Muslim marriage and divorce rules were applied in the state which led to a lot of controversy in the Assam Assembly. These rules are very a little different from traditional Muslim culture and religion as it changed the way of marriage that Muslim usually follow. Therefore this has led to a lot of controversy among the Muslim in the Assam assembly due to the decision taken by the Assam cabinet.
The way of marriage of Muslims was changed as the role of Qazis was removed which is generally followed by Muslims in their nikkah which is the event in which it is confirmed that the brides are getting married to each other. Therefore the Qazis conduct the performance of the Nikah ceremony however this rule have finished the need of the Qazis as the government will record the history of the marriages of the Muslims rather than a paper proof of the marriages and the Muslims will have to register their marriages to the government do they have the record of it.

One more thing that the Muslim Marriage Registration Bill 2024 did was to end child marriages. In this law of marriage the Muslims under 18 years of age cannot marry each other either it a female or a male. This step was taken in order to control the population of India and to reduce the threat of child marriages which are becoming common among Indian Muslims. This proposed Muslim Marriage Registration Bill 2024 will be implemented during Autumn season on Thursday and it will be followed by all of the Muslims living in Assam.

Why Muslims Are Disliking Muslim Marriage Registration Bill 2024
The Muslims are protesting the Muslim marriage registration bill 2024 as they think their religious and cultural rights are not being given to them as this bill is ending the tradition of their way of marriage. The removal of Qazi is a big miss for the Muslims in the Nikah ceremony as the Qazi are the evidence that the marriage has been done between the two people therefore they are very important therefore this act is disliked by the Muslims.
