A peaceful religious gathering was organized on October 17 at the Karni Vihar temple in Jaipur by the Jaipur district to celebrate their festival. However, this function, known as the Sharad Purnima festival event was attacked in Shiva temple with knives. The incident took place after the recital of Hanuman Chalisa. During the incident, ten RSS Karyakartas were brutally stabbed. The incident occurred when Prasad was being distributed after Hanuman Chalisa’s recital at the celebration event.
It is reported that the two local men did not like this program, and the altercation between them and the volunteers turned violent. Equipped with knives, they attacked the victims in all crucial areas and seriously injured the volunteers. Several Karyakartas were badly injured and admitted to SMS Hospital.
As the news of the attack spread, chaos and unrest erupted inside as well as outside the temple. Scores of local RSS activists gathered in large numbers in front of the Karni Vihar police station demanding immediate action. The nature of the attack has turned suspicious that it was an act of premeditated conspiracy and a well-thought-out attempt to create communal unrest in Jaipur.

The police have arrested three suspects, one of whom was the main attacker Naseeb Chaudhary along with his son. Other suspects are also involved in this attack and declared absconding. The police intensified security around Karni Vihar to avoid more unrest.
The local community is shocked over the brutal attack, particularly by RSS supporters. The attack has thrown up serious concerns over religious and communal tension in Jaipur. Victims are under tight surveillance, though some have received serious medical attention due to critical injuries. The police are doing their best to ensure the victims get justice.
This occurrence has made the recent escalating tension come sharper into focus, and an action plan is called for to make sure such violent incidents do not surface again in religious peaceful assemblies.
