In the latest political development, well-known UPSC coach Avadh Ojha joins the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). He announced this news on December 2, 2024, in Delhi, where he was seen standing beside AAP leaders Arvind Kejriwal and Manish Sisodia. Ojha cited that he would change the education system through his political powers.
Avadh Ojha, a renowned history coach, joined AAP with a rich teaching background. A native of Gonda, Uttar Pradesh, this 40-year-old has become famous among aspirants of the UPSC. Ojha, famous for his teaching of history, started his career in Delhi in 2005. He worked with coaching institutes like Chanakya IAS Academy and Vajiram and Ravi before starting his own institute, IQRA Academy, in Pune in 2019.
Ojha’s influence rose during the COVID-19 pandemic when his YouTube channel, Ray Avadh Ojha, gained widespread recognition; he has over 909,000 subscribers. His way of teaching relates history to current events, which has motivated numerous students.
“Education is the backbone of society and the nation. If given a choice, I will always choose education over politics. My entry into politics is one step to strengthen education reforms,” said an impassioned Ojha.
Avadh Ojha joins AAP as an educator and social reformer. His philanthropic efforts, including providing free education to less privileged students, show how committed he is to bridging the gap in education.
Avadh Ojha Joins AAP, But Not Without Controversy
Ojha’s entry into politics also brings scrutiny. In 2023, a video sparked backlash where he called for Prime Minister Narendra Modi to establish a “Modi dynasty” and referred to Parliament as “Modi’s palace.” Critics questioned his understanding of democratic principles.
Despite this, Avadh Ojha’s alliance with AAP signals a commitment to reshaping education policy through political action.
