In the recent developments in Indian sports and politics, cricketer Ravindra Jadeja joins the Bharatiya Janata Party. He joins his wife Rivaba Jadeja who is Gujarat’s BJP MLA. She posted this update via X on Thursday sharing images of both their membership cards. Jadeja’s wife mentioned the BJP’s ‘sadasyata abhiyan’ (membership drive), which commenced on September 2, 2024. The same day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi also renewed his membership of the BJP in this campaign.
In her tweet, Rivaba posted with the hashtag #SadasyataAbhiyaan2024 to rally support for the membership drive. Rivaba, who has been with the BJP since 2019, has registered a comfortable victory in the Gujarat Assembly polls by winning the Jamnagar North seat by over 50,000 votes. Ravindra Jadeja backed her up by campaigning for his team openly, even though he attracted controversy when his father and sister attempted to campaign on behalf of the Congress Party. However, Rivaba stressed that the ideological differences in their family were not a problem. She and Ravindra have the same thinking, they are always together in sorrow & pain or happiness.
Within three days of its launch, more than 1 crore people have joined the ballot papers as part of the BJP membership drive. This drive was introduced by BJP National General Secretary Vinod Tawde. This is part of the party’s plan to reinforce its base all over India. The post of Rivaba confirming that Ravindra Jadeja joins the Bharatiya Janata Party is now making waves on social media.
