Devendra Fadnavis for a record third term assumes office as the Chief Minister of Maharashtra tomorrow at Mumbai’s Azad Maidan. BJP’s leadership brought the curtain down on weeks of speculation by deciding Fadnavis’s place for the topmost leadership, which sealed his position in the party and within the state.
This was unanimously approved by BJP members of the assembly following the emphatic success of Mahayuti in the recently concluded assembly election.
At Azad Maidan, the scene is one of activity as once again Devendra Fadnavis will become the Maharashtra Chief Minister. This is on the back of the decisive win of the BJP-led Mahayuti alliance, which has bagged 230 out of 288 Assembly seats.

Tensions within the Alliance Resolved
For several days suspense reached a climax with the result that Devendra Fadnavis assumed the mantle of chief minister of Maharashtra, although it has deeply been brought to the lips of Shiv Sena representatives by pressing Eknath Shinde to continue the spot.
Even though the BJP claimed the highest position according to the number of votes that they received as their majority, Shinde eventually handed over the chairmanship to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah.
