Union Minister Giriraj Singh has said in a conference that the time has come to implement population control law in the whole country. He further said that “FTR among Muslim women is 1.25% more than Hindu women’s”. He also later confirmed that this law is equally applicable to all the religious groups “We need such a law which is equally applicable to Hindus, Muslims, Sikhs, Christians.”
He also warned the people who will not follow this law by saying that their voting rights would be taken, which are one of the most important rights of a citizen in democratic world. He says “Voting rights of those who do not follow this law should be taken away.” He also said that not only voting rights, that person will also not be able to get benefit from the schemes introduced by the government. “Such people should not be given the benefit of any Govt schemes”, He said.
The Benefits And Drawbacks Of Population control Law
There are possible benefits and drawbacks of this law. The first benefit of this population control law is that there would be less young dependents and more working population therefore the economies resources which were previously used to feed young dependents will now be used in improving the living standards of the state. Secondly, low population will also end the shortage of food which is called famine and therefore food will be available to everyone.
Population control law will also help to improve the environment of the state as less population means that there would be less pollution by the people which would again lead to higher living standards. Along with this, the unemployment rate is also likely to reduce as there would be less labor and there would be a potential of higher wages due to higher demand of labor and less supply.
The drawbacks of this population control law are drastic in the long term. When there are less young dependents due to this law in the state. After the working population becomes old after 20-40 years, there would be very little working population due to population control and an aging population which will burden the country’s economy and eventually put a country in a recession.

One Thing Government Needs To Announce To Fully Introduce This Policy
People usually raise their children so they can help their parents in their old ages and become their support. If the government introduces the population control program then the people are likely to have very few children due to which their future would be insecure. Therefore the government should also introduce old age benefits for all old people across the country for better implementation of this policy.
