Nvidia Backs AI Data Center Startup Nscale as Valuation Reaches $14.6 Billion

AI data centre startup Nscale raised $2 billion at a $14.6 billion valuation, the company announced as the AI infrastructure boom continues. The Series C included Nvidia and led by Aker ASA and 8090 Industries. Astra Capital Management, Citadel, Dell, Jane Street, Lenovo, Linden Advisors, Nokia, and Point72 also took part.

Nscale is also announcing three new directors on its board. They are former Meta COO Sheryl Sandberg, former UK deputy prime minister and Meta executive Nick Clegg, and former Yahoo President Susan Decker. Founded in 2024, Nscale become an important player in building AI infrastructure by developing data centres and operating cloud computing services.

Funds in Series C includes $433 million

The new funds include the $433 million pre-Series C SAFE round in October. This fresh capital help speed up Nscale’s development of vertically integrated AI infrastructure. It ranges from GPU compute and networking to data services and orchestration software, across Europe, North America, and Asia, as per the company’s statement.

The AI boom leading to the largest infrastructure buildout in human history, said Josh Payne, CEO and founder of Nscale. He echoed past comments from Jensen Huang, CEO of Nvidia, which invested in this round. We are building the foundation that the market relies on, the engine of super intelligence.
