Private home prices in Hong Kong increased 0.9 % month-on-month in November, marking the sixth consecutive month of growth, according to government data released on Monday. This rise in prices comes as interest rate cuts and a strong stock market boost investor confidence.

What affects the home prices?

Home prices rose 0.9 % in November compared to October, following a revised 0.4 % increase in the previous month. However, home prices in Hong Kong have dropped nearly 30 % from a peak in 2021, affected by higher mortgage rates, a weak economic outlook, and reduced demand after many professionals left due to strict COVID measures and new national security laws.
