Real Estate Businessman murdered in Jawaharnagar; Investigation Starts

A 46-year-old man was reportedly murdered by six people near the Jawaharnagar police station in the Medchal-Malkajgiri district, on the outskirts of Hyderabad, on Monday. Ghanta Venkataratnam, who worked in real estate, was stabbed to death. The attackers also used firearms in murder.

The police official said that the incident occurred around 8 AM while Venkataratnam was riding home on his scooter after dropping his daughter at school. The six suspects approached him in an auto-rickshaw and on a motorcycle. They ambushed him and attacked him with knives and guns, leading to his immediate death. Afterward, they fled the scene.

Police found rivalries behind murder

The police collected CCTV footage from the area where the crime took place and are currently reviewing it. Speaking to reporters at the crime scene in Jawaharnagar, DCP Sridhar said the police arrived promptly after receiving the report. He added that the clues team and forensic teams are assisting with the investigation.

The police suspect that the murder may have been related to financial dealings and that his rivals involved. They also noted that Ghanta Venkataratnam had previously been linked to a double murder case.
