Hacker Takes Over Bruno Fernandes X Account After United's Cup Loss

Manchester United has confirmed that captain Bruno Fernandes X account compromised. A series of unusual posts appeared on the midfielder’s official profile, including one calling for the club’s owners, INEOS, to removed.

The club announced that the account hacked. Authorities are investigating the incident and have urged fans not to engage with or share the unauthorized messages.

Shortly after 11 pm GMT, strange activity began on Bruno Fernandes’s X account. His feed suddenly filled with a rapid series of posts for his 4.5 million followers. The initial messages centered on cryptocurrency, including claims about launching a new digital token. They then shifted to comments on money, with one now-deleted post stating, “This is why I need to paid more.”

The tone of the posts quickly changed to address Manchester United’s on-field issues, surfacing just hours after the club’s FA Cup exit to Brighton on Sunday under interim manager Darren Fletcher. One message described United as “in the dumps,” while another called for INEOS to removed.

Hacker posts the erratic posts

The erratic sequence of posts included messages tagging adult star Bonnie Blue and references to the England cricket team. The account also mentioned YouTuber KSI and reigning world darts champion Luke Littler, highlighting the random and unusual nature of the activity before the posts taken down.

Fernandes not known to a active X user, and his public communications in recent months mostly taken place through more controlled channels. His last genuine post on the platform was several months before the hack.

Earlier this week, following Amorim’s departure, Bruno Fernandes shared a short message of thanks to the official manager on Instagram, showing respect despite the challenging season. Many United players also posted tributes, demonstrating their appreciation for Amorim’s leadership during his time with the club.
