Instagram Reposting and map Features Face Big Backslash

Instagram has rolled out new features that include reposting, a location-sharing map, and updates to the ‘Friends’ tab. The platform now helps users to share others’ reels and posts with their followers and get friends content based on geographic locations. But in preference to enthusiasm, those Instagram Reposting updates have cause backslash, with users accusing Instagram of copying rival apps and disrupting the experience.

Instagram Reposting Updates Launched Like snapchat

The repost feature allow customers to share any public reel or feed post directly to their profile. Reposted content seems in a new “Reposts” tab and also can show up in feed of followers. Users can add notes when reposting using a notion bubble icon. The aim is to assist content to reach broader audiences and amplify its shelf life.

Meanwhile, the new Instagram Map indicates posts shared through friends or creators from unique places. It targets to blend social discovery with real-world places, letting customers explore where others had been active.

Why Backlash from customers

The new features haven’t gone well with many customers. On X, the platform formerly called Twitter, blogger Graceful Glam By Danielle wrote, “Is it only me, or is Instagram trying to be like TikTok with permitting reposts? 🧐”

Another user post, “Instagram, I hate your new repost button. I don’t mean to click on it. What if I click on it and I don’t know I’ve clicked it? The Insta algorithm is evil. I’m scared.” Critics argue the Instagram Reposting button is simple to tap by accident, risking accidental stocks and cluttering profiles with duplicated content.
