An incident video gone viral after a Bengaluru woman and her family allegedly tried to send her elderly father in a courier. This raised serious concerns about reckless content creation.
The incident happened at a courier service office under the Vyalikaval police station. The family arrived carrying a large sack and asked to ship it. Staff became suspicious when the group refused to reveal what was inside the parcel.
Woman Attempts to ‘Courier’ Father in Bengaluru
In a shocking turn, the daughter and her family packed her father into a gunny bag, brought him to the courier office, and tried to send him outside Bengaluru. The stunt aimed to highlight the challenges of getting bus and train tickets during the festive season, including Ugadi and Ramzan.
Employees, noticing something off, checked the package and found an elderly man inside. Reports say the man seemed distressed and had difficulty breathing in the cramped space.
Family claim, it is just social media act
When questioned, the family claimed the act was part of a planned social media video, meant to be a humorous take on how ‘couriering a person’ might seem easier than getting travel tickets during busy times. Despite being confronted, the family allegedly insisted that the staff accept the parcel, which escalated the situation and led employees to call the police.
Authorities arrived quickly and took the family to the police station for questioning. The group later recorded an apology video, admitting that their actions were irresponsible and potentially dangerous. Bengaluru Police issued a strict warning against attempting such stunts in the future and released the family without filing a formal case.
