Aadhaar users may soon find it easier to update their personal information with a new mobile application developed by the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI). Tentatively named e-Aadhaar, the Uidai aadhaar app will allow users to change details like their name, date of birth, mobile number, and address directly from their phones. Reports shows that the app launched by the end of 2025, promise a simpler and more convenient experience for millions of people in India.
What is Uidai aadhaar app?
The e-Aadhaar app will serve as an all-in-one platform, allows users to manage and update their Aadhaar information without needing to visit enrollment centers. Users can make most updates, such as correcting names or addresses, through the app.
Starting in November, biometric updates like fingerprints and iris scans will still require a visit to enrollment centers, but the app will handle most other paperwork digitally. This approach should cut down on travel, paperwork, and delays for Aadhaar holders.
AI and Face ID for Safer Access
A key feature of the Uidai aadhaar app is its use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Face ID technology. These tools will speed up the process of updating Aadhaar information while also enhancing security. Users will be able to log in securely using facial recognition that reduce the need for passwords or OTPs, reducing the risk of fraud or identity theft.
